Monseigneur de Laval, First bishop of Quebec

François de Montmorency de Laval arrived twenty years after the Ursulines. He arrived as the Bishop of New France.He traveled several times his huge territory in snowshoes, in canoe or on foot. He often brought material and spiritual help to the poorest.  He stayed at the Monastery for two years, ensuring the continuity of the community within the colony. Monseigneur de Laval was beatified and canonized at the same time as Marie of the Incarnation.
