Holy Family

In this painting, you will notice that unlike most representations of the Holy Family, here we have Saint Joseph, not Mary, presenting the Child Jesus.

In our community, this painting is said to be connected with an extraordinary event. To support the French and protect them during the second bombing by the British General William Phips, the Ursulines loaned this painting to the parish, and it was hoisted to the highest bell-tower of the cathedral of Quebec, not far from here. The French were victorious.
